Fundraiser to Benefit Beatitude House

Beatitude House will be the beneficiaries of a fundraiser hosted by St. Charles Church in Boardman.  The Beatitude House Mother’s Day Fundraiser will take place Saturday, May 12, 2012 at the St. Charles Church Social Hall from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The event will include ast a large variety of vendors as well as samples, snacks, and a raffle for baskets and other prizes.

Space is still available for vendors wishing to participate in this shopping extravaganza. Contact Stacey Wallace, St. Charles Home and School President, at 330.398.6399 for information regarding vendor space.

Also,  St. Charles is encouraging attendees to go to Beatitude House’s website, www.beatitudehouse.com, and bring in any three items from their “Wish List” to receive a FREE raffle ticket for a chance to win gift baskets and prizes.

March Celebration

The familes at A House of Blessing in Warren gathered with friends from Making Kids Count to celebrate the birthdays of anyone born in March.  The unseasonably warm weather allowed everyone to enjoy the outside!

Wine Taste Plans Continue

Beatitude House continues to make plans for the 13th annual Wine Taste & Auction to be held May 4, 2012 at The Embassy.  The event includes a wine taste, full course dinner, live, silent and bag auctions. 

Beatitude House is pleased to announce The Muransky Companies, Clear Channel Radio and Comprehensive Logistics are Platinum Sponsors for the event.

A Picnic in March!

Who could pass up an opportunity for a Hot Dog Picnic with the summer weather we have been having in mid-March?

The families at A House of Blessing Youngstown did just that one evening recently.  Everyone enjoyed a hot dog supper complete with chips, lemonade and fresh fruit for dessert.  The playground at the Youngstown site provided plenty for the kids to do besides eat!!! 

March Birthdays Celebrated

Families living at A House of Blessing in Youngstown recently celebrated March birthdays with volunteers from Making Kids Count.  The group enjoyed pizza and cake before heading outside for some fun in the sun.  Every month Making Kids Count visits Beatitude House to help the children celebrate their special day.

Welcome Wagon to Host Event to Support Local Charities

The Welcome Wagon of Canfield is hosting a charity auction and murder mystery dinner theater on March 23rd from 6pm-10pm at Antones Banquet Center in Boardman.  Tickets are $50 and can be purchased by calling 330-793-1551.

The evening includes dinner, live theater (presented by “Mystery’s Most Wanted” Pittsburgh’s #1 Interactive dinner theater company) silent and Chinese auctions. Come out for a night a fun! All proceeds from the event help The Welcome Wagon of Canfield support LOCAL charities!!

Open House Announced

Beatitude House’s Permanent Supportive Housing progam will host an Open House on Thursday February 23, from 3:00 pm- 5:00 pm in their new offices at 201 Wick Avenue in Youngstown. 

Come meet the staff, tour the new facility and enjoy some light refreshments!

A special treat

What would Valentine’s Day be without a Heart shaped cookie made with love? 

The children at A House of Blessing Youngstown had an opportunity to use  their “sweet tooth” to ice and decorate large heart shaped sugar cookies.  They tasted as good as they looked, too.  Thank you to  Jean Berger, a Beatitude House friend, who baked over 4 dozen cookies and sent the colored icings and sprinkles to complete the job.

Ashtabula Renovations Continue

Work continues on the former St. Joseph Elementary School in Ashtabula, where the building is being renovated to create homes for 10 homeless families.

Birthday Bowling Party

On December 23rd, the children of A House of Blessing Warren and Youngstown were treated to a Birthday Bowling Party to celebrate the birthdays of all of the children born in December.   In addition to bowling, pizza, pop and treat bags, three children received birthday gifts from Making Kids Count as part of their monthly birthday celebrations at each site. No one kept score but eveyone had a great time!!

A special Thank You to Making Kids Count for helping f us start the Christmas weekend is such a special way.
