Mother’s Day Event a Success!

St. Charles Home and School Association held a Mother’s Day fundraiser on May 12 in which the proceeds were donated to Beatitude House.  The event which was free featured a variety of vendors, food, a basket raffle and raised close to $1,200 for Beatitude House.

Terri and Trish from Home Savings and Loan Company prepared delicious desserts for the women at A House of Blessing Youngstown in celebration of Mother’s Day.  They also  presented each woman with a potted flower.

New Bikes for Beatitude House

The Youngstown Out-Spokin’ Wheelmen presented four bikes and four bike helmets to Beatitude House recently.  They had been working toward this goal for a while and are very proud to help make our families’  summers a little more healthy and fun.  They also donated bikes and helmets to Someplace Safe in Warren and Christine House in Columbiana.

April Fun!

Families at A House of Blessing Warren gathered to celebrate those born in April.  Our friends from Making Kids Count hosted a wonderful birthday party for the families.

New Accomplishments Every Month

Terri Liller, Case Manager for Permanent Supportive Housing is proud to announce some accomplishments of the women and children in her program.  Shannon was hired to do food service at Neil Kennedy, Charnitta attended the annual AA convention in Akron, and Angie (age 10) is on the honor role.

Fundraiser to Benefit Beatitude House

Beatitude House will be the beneficiaries of a fundraiser hosted by St. Charles Church in Boardman.  The Beatitude House Mother’s Day Fundraiser will take place Saturday, May 12, 2012 at the St. Charles Church Social Hall from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The event will include ast a large variety of vendors as well as samples, snacks, and a raffle for baskets and other prizes.

Space is still available for vendors wishing to participate in this shopping extravaganza. Contact Stacey Wallace, St. Charles Home and School President, at 330.398.6399 for information regarding vendor space.

Also,  St. Charles is encouraging attendees to go to Beatitude House’s website, www.beatitudehouse.com, and bring in any three items from their “Wish List” to receive a FREE raffle ticket for a chance to win gift baskets and prizes.

Group Learns CPR

Pictured below are the proud women and staff members from A House of Blessing Youngstown who were recently certified through the American Heart Association in CPR. 

Wendy and Jeff Thomas of Thomas Training Consultants in Boardman  presented  full training  with hands-on practice in Basic CPR for adults, children and infants along with training on how to use an AED (Automatic External Defibrillator) .  What  wonderful skills to have and hope you never have to use !!

Chocolate Bunny Shared

Phillip Naples won a 20 pound chocolate Easter  Bunny  from Giannios Candy Company  at the Boardman High School Craft Show.  He decided to share the chocolate with the families at Beatitude House.  It took some work to break it apart but everyone got a piece and they enjoyed it immensely.

Easter Baskets Donated

Kristina Sinegal, a Nurse at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Boardman and her co-workers put together Easter baskets for the children living at A House of Blessing in Youngstown.  Each child received a basket filled with age appropriate gifts.
